Westwood Drop Off/Pick Up Procedures

Where do I drop off and pick up my student(s)?

When dropping off or picking up your student(s) we highly recommend parking off campus and walking your students onto campus. Street parking is available on West Street and Roland Drive. Please use existing crosswalks and always follow traffic safety guidelines when walking to school.

If you need to drop off or pick up your student(s) while remaining in your car, you are welcome to use the drop off/pick up area in the Visitor Parking lot between Westwood and El Dorado. You approach the drop off area from Roland Dr. heading toward Concord Blvd. There are three lanes for drop off/pick up – the far-right lane must go through the El Dorado parking lot to reach the exit where you will turn right to exit onto West Street. The middle and left lanes exit directly after Visitor Parking where you will turn left to exit onto West Street.

Are there places I should avoid?

Yes. The semi-circle in front of the Multi-Use building by the flag pole is for busses and families with special permission ONLY and is not to be used for dropping off or picking up students. Our community includes four Special Day classes for students with disabilities and this area is reserved to help them get safely to and from school. Please be respectful of this space. Likewise, the parking lot that leads to the Dianne Adair day care is for staff and day care families ONLY and not to be used for dropping off or picking up your students under any circumstances. The only exception is the handicap parking spaces at the front of the staff parking lot, which may be used by families with special needs.

Please be sure to give yourself enough time to get to school by 7:55am. West Street has traffic from Westwood, El Dorado, and Concord High – it can be stressful. Above all, we want everyone to be safe and to have a great day at school. Thank you for abiding by the rules and keeping our community moving smoothly!
