- Teachers have buy back days-2 half days for assessments and 3 half days for collaboration
- More time for evaluation-how helpful it was to have these half days for teachers

- April and May intervention want to continue with this next school year, maybe computer lab rotation for afterschool intervention

- ELD—English language learners—kindergartens are doing well with ELD and for 30 minutes a day

- Jennie Smith asked do all schools do ELD time- David Ramirez replies for example some students go to ALD in the morning and some other students go to ELD -- for the English-standard practice at all schools- Yes schools do – Mrs. Quinones (our vocal music teacher) evens teaches ELD
- More time to evaluate- David Ramirez and Joan Doyle have been trying different ideas to get more parents involved with ELAC meetings
- Holding the ELAC meetings the same night as PFC Meetings

- The same 3 parents attend the ELAC meetings

- Shannon Pagan arrives for the meeting. She did not vote on the October 27 minutes.
- Ken Nielsen states there is an error under minutes ”no present” needs to be corrected to “not present”
- Christine Hintzoglou makes a motion to approve the November 17, 2015 minutes and Shannon Pagan seconds the motion (6 Yes and 0 No and 1 abstention)
- David Ramirez states that Bullying Survey that was supposed to take place in January, has not been completed by the students (per the November 17, 2015 minutes). He is still working on it and will be giving it out in February instead of January.
Budget
- David Ramirez met with Julie Braun Martin last week regarding the budget.
- Negative for supplies and materials, IXL program and others
- Money needs to be transferred to clear all the negatives.
- Software license for some grade levels (David Ramirez will pay for half and will be asking the PFC for the other half of the funds).
- LCFF money (new single plan money) the district is giving us
- The goal was talked about it in November
- After school intervention (example a 6 week session)
- Christine Hintzoglou asked is this in addition to Buena Vista Tutoring. David Ramirez replies “Yes.”
- Need to talk to teachers to see how we can implement intervention
- This would be for benchmark and assessments
- We focus a lot on reading
- Reading verses Math
- Terry Kremin and Shannon Pagan both agree that we should concentrate on reading in addition to Buena Vista tutoring and Jewish Coalition tutoring
- Hopefully start in February/March
- Small groups (more student than Buena Vista tutoring has per teacher)
- $55,000 in a budget for (carry over included)
- Last year we talked about Soul Shop life skills and anti-bullying. Looking into Soul Shop to go along with our PBIS program. El Monte and Wren use this program.
- We could be on the same pages as other schools that feed into El Dorado.
- Soul Shop costs 3 to 4 thousand dollars
- Psych intern or Council group or friendship group
- David Ramirez is working with the district to get more time for psych to be on site or an intern
- Common Core money the district gave our site
- PLC conference a team is going to Phoenix in March
- About one more group that will still need to go to another PLC conference, to cover the teachers at Westwood.

- Cohort that needs to write a technology plan, David Ramirez will be talking with a specialist this week regarding our site.
- Christine Hintzoglou asked if we could have a tech in the Computer Lab to help out. David Ramirez replies “Possibly.”
- IPad or Google Chrome book hearing different feedback on both.
- Thinking of a mobile cart with chrome or IPad
- Christine inquires about the crashing during iReady testing. David Ramirez states that the Site Tech would be the one to ask. He plans on having a meeting with our Site Tech.

- Terry Kremin asks (the teachers in the meeting) what would be beneficial for students in the Computer Lab?”
- Christine Hintzoglou states that the students need to learn keyboard skills. She also thinks Smart Board would be a great idea.

- Table the minutes for a while until our School Site Council members (two teachers) that are attending a Buena Vista Tutoring Celebration at this time.
Single Plan
- Shannon Pagan asked “What is the purpose of the single plan, and is there accountability for teachers or students ?”
- David Ramirez replies “The single plan is for the district, students, parents, teachers, School Site Council members and the community.”

- Healthy kids survey David Ramirez has done previously, he will be giving the students the Bullying Surveying in January.

- Staff are going to the symposiums on Common Core
- K-5 students 95.6% in general education and 89% for special education students

- District training meeting and then the committee has presented what they have learned at the staff meeting. The committee will be holding monthly meetings. Discuss how to implement this into our site.
- Computer literacy
- IXL is new in our Computer Lab. Shannon Pagan states that “Bailey loves to use the IXL at home too!”
- David Ramirez attend a meeting with Julie Braun Martin. She asked him “What can I help with?” David Ramirez said “The budget.”
- FISCAL has been working on the budget. We need a budget.
- Jill Kimack needs to send out an email to remind the School Site Council Members of the meetings. Next meeting will be in January.

Under “Minutes” first bullet that states “Ken Nielsen motions to approve the minutes from September 29, Lauren Steers seconds the motion (4 yes 2 no-because Christine Hintzoglou and Terry Kremin were not present at this meeting).” Correction needs to read “Ken Nielsen motions to approve the minutes from September 29, Lauren Steers seconds the motion (4 yes 2 abstention).
- The meeting in January will have two sets of minutes to be voted on. The October 27 corrected and November 17, 2014.

Textbooks/Textbook Sufficiency Data
- This is done every year
- Westwood had the Williams Case visit last week. This is a San Francisco lawsuit that every student has textbooks and instructional materials. Also, school facilities must be clean, safe and maintained in good repair
- Math, language arts, social studies, science
- We have textbooks for each student here
- Cannot vote on the Textbook Sufficiency Data because we didn’t have a quorum.

- You will be receiving a binder if you are a new member
- Go over the bylaws in the next meeting
- 2:45 earliest that Jennie can come, we discussed that 3:00 pm would work best
- Our Safety Plan was approved by the board
- Concord PD is involved with our Safety Plan
- Jennie Smith asked does the staff see the Safety Plans, does it include drop off of students and the parking lot
- Procedure of what parents should be doing with drop off and staff parking lot is in the Safety Plan
- David said at Staff meeting the drills are brought up
- New staff member need to know our Safety Plan. David Ramirez will go over the Safety Plan at the next staff meeting
- We will have to have an emergency Schoolsite Council meeting to vote on the Textbook Sufficiency
- The meeting will be tomorrow afterschool at 2:15pm

- Westwood had the Williams Case visit last week. This is a San Francisco lawsuit that every student has textbooks and instructional materials. Also, school facilities must be clean, safe and maintained in good repair.
- Vote on the Textbook Sufficiency Data. Jennie Smith motion to accept the Textbook Sufficiency Data, Christine Hintzoglou seconds motion (8 yes votes and 0 no votes).
